Klondike Derby Challenge!!
Our
Troop has been asked to organize and run the "program" or events at the
2007 Riverwood District Klondike Derby on Saturday, January 20th.
Will we accept that challenge? It's up to the scouts and the
supporting adults.
What would it entail, you ask?
-
Choosing a location & securing that location
-
Coming up with a "Program Theme"
-
Planning and manning 6 to 9 stations with 2 or 3 scouts/adults per
station
-
Computing a point, token, or punch system
for scoring the competitions
-
Scheduling a station-rotation for an
estimated 18 patrols from across the district

Friends
Of Scouting We
attained our "BASE" goal of $2,000 and are only $145 away from our
"GROWTH" goal of $2,300 (We have until April 28th to meet our Growth
goal). This means we get all of our rank advancement badges and
required merit badges for FREE (through March 31, 2007)!! (4/2006)
Rechartering
Results
As of March 31, 2005 we
rechartered 33 scouts, 21 adults and added 7 new adults to the roster.
We expect to add 12 incoming WEBELOS and 3 additional adults in the next
few weeks. Remember: We have rechartered for 6 months only
and will begin our NEW annual rechartering process in September 2006 and
every September thereafter. (4/2006)
Uniform
Inspections
The PLC has decided on having uniform inspections at
every meeting. **Note: Some meetings require Class A's and
some require Class B's. If you pass your
uniform inspection for every meeting during a 3 month period there will
be a reward. (10/2005)
Construction
Guide Kid's Carnival - Positive Promotion!
The following scouts represented our Troop in a very positive
light.
Thank you to Brandon W, Brandon H, Vitali, Alexei, Jake L, Morgan L, Chris M,
Josh P, Drew K and scout-sibling, Jake W (for filling in for last minute
cancellations.)
We received many nice complements from parents and workers, and it was obvious
that the boys enjoyed it as well. We ran a piņata station, a bean bag
toss, a tool drop, a pin-the-hammer game, a cookie walk, a giant board game and
a bingo station for the Construction Guide Kid's Carnival. The
Construction Guide generously donated $100 toward Troop camping equipment and
the boys earned service hours by promoting Scouting and volunteering their time.

ANNOUNCING:
New SPL and ASPL
Troop 114's newly elected Senior Patrol Leader is Scott Fisher.
Scott has chosen Kent Weyrauch to assist him as the ASPL. We look forward
to another great year of scouting! Good luck guys! (8/2005)
We Give A Fond
Farewell To Our Outgoing Scout Master
The adults of Troop 114 gathered to say thank you and goodbye to
our outgoing Scout Master and his family. We wish them the best of luck in
Florida! (6/2005)
ATTENTION: We Had A
Spring Overnighter Shortfall!
We underestimated the costs for the Spring
Overnighter. So now we have to ask that all scouts and adults who attended
the Spring Overnighter at Kiwanis kick in an additional $5.
The fees for camping, renting the dining hall and food added up to more than
expected. We hope you understand! Thank you and you can give your
money to the treasurer at one of the next two meetings in July. (6/2005)

ICE FISHING REPORT
"Everyone had a great time at
last Saturday's Ice Fishing Tournament up at Rush Lake! It was a beautiful day
and we learned a lot about the art of pulling fish up through a little hole in
the ice. Jack won the award for the scout catching the most fish, Mr. Puckett
was the adult with the most catches, and Mr. Larry K. and Scott M. earned the
most compliments for putting together a FUN and OUTSTANDING outing which will
probably become an annual event for Troop 114," reported Mr. Bagaas.
